Late 30s dove grey, wooden sole sandals. These are incredible & a real piece of fashion history! They were featured in the 1939 film “The Women” featuring Joan Crawford, swipe for photo. Famed costume designer, Gilbert Adrian, designed the entire film so, it is quite possible that these shoes were designed by Adrian, himself. There are no labels, or branding. They are in great condition for their age. The sole is fashioned with leather string so the bed of the sole articulates w/ each step. Charming cut out designs on the too. Buckle closure.
Issues: Overall sturdy condition. There are some small cracks in the paint but that seems to be the only real issue. Should be conditioned but I will leave that to the buyer’s discretion.
