Edwardian, rust colored, summerweight silk dress with lace details. Amazzzzzing rust colored, jacquard fabric in a lightweight silk. The fabric feels like a silk cotton blend. Dollops of cream lace on the collar & sleeve cuffs. Cloth covered buttons on the blouse but actually closes with hook & eye closures. Smocking at the waist & hips. Slips on overhead, or steps in, with closures on the front & side of dress. Has been aired out but not laundered due to fear of color bleed.
Issues: Overall very sturdy condition. At some point the waist will need to be reinforced but, as of now, the dress is wearable. The is a small area of discoloration on the lace cuff. There is a banded fading effect of the skirt which makes me believe there was smocking all the way down? Regardless, the fade does not detract. Perhaps a pinhole or two but otherwise very wearable!
