30s sheer, dusty peach, swiss dot dress. This dress came from an estate of a woman whose grandmother (last photo) had worked as a midwife in Texas, from the late teens-40s. Because of this, I believe that all the garments retrieved from this estate were all handmade. If this is the case, the woman was an incredible seamstress! This dress is adorable. I believe it had an underslip at some point because there are high slits that cut up to the waist. A bit saucy for the 30s. It slips on overhead & there is a black ribbon at the neckline. Cute peter pan collar & long exaggerated waist ties. Pair with a step in, slip, or tap pants. Freshly laundered & ready to wear.
Issues: Overall in very sturdy condition. The dress had massive color bleed & I managed to de bleed most of it. However, the swiss dots & piping that were once cream colored are now a soft peach & there some slight color variation through out. Really does not detract from the overall look. Otherwise no holes, tears, snags to note.
