Late 30s, early 40s pink ribbed rayon dress. This dress came from an estate of a woman whose grandmother (last photo) had worked as a midwife in Texas, from the late teens-40s. Because of this, I believe that all the garments retrieved from this estate were all handmade. If this is the case, the woman was an incredible seamstress! This dress has all of the classic deco seams. Waffle cotton collar with pink & blue early plastic buttons. Fluttery sleeves that drape beautifully over the shoulders. Belt has an early plastic blue slide buckle. Slips on overhead. Freshly laundered & ready to wear.
Issues: Overall very sturdy condition. There is some slight yellowing around the inner collar. The dress was taken in on the sides & let out again at some point. Because of this, there are some areas where you can see the old seams. One mend on the sleeve. Otherwise no holes, tears, snags to note.
